Nice sax sound

Got the Kenny G VST last week. It sounds really good, way better than my old plugin. Install was easy. My MIDI keyboard hooked right up. Played around with it for a bit and it felt pretty natural. Happy with it.

Decent value on sale

I was looking for a good saxophone VST and kept an eye out for deals. I managed to snag the Kenny G VST during a summer sale, which saved me about $30 off the regular price. For that amount, it felt like a worthwhile investment. I also signed up for their newsletter, which gave me an additional small discount. Overall, the price point for what you get, especially with the AI tech, made it a smart buy. It felt like I got good value for my money, and it integrates well with my setup.

Good plugin, smooth process

I purchased the Kenny G Saxophone VST for my Akai EWI. Ordering was straightforward on their website; the license key landed in my inbox within a minute of purchase, which was great. Installation instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in Ableton Live without any hitches. The sound quality is impressive, especially with a breath controller. It picks up nuances well, and the AI aspect really adds to the expressiveness. It's definitely a step up from other saxophone VSTs I've tried. Support wasn't needed, but the FAQ section covered most questions I had.

Consistent quality, as always

This isn't my first purchase from Music Work Center. I've bought other sound sets and VSTs from them before. This time, I got the Soprano Sax VST. As usual, the download and activation process was seamless. The sound quality is consistently high across their products. It's why I keep coming back; I know what to expect. No surprises, just reliable software that performs as advertised.

Just got the Kenny G VST, trying to figure out how to get it working with my Akai EWI. Anyone had success with this combo?

A AnjaliS 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer

Yeah, it works! You need to make sure your EWI is sending MIDI CC messages that the VST can interpret for breath control. Sometimes mapping in your DAW is required. Also, check the VST's settings, there's usually a breath controller option.

A AnjaliS 1 month ago

Usually CC2 for breath, but it can vary. Check your EWI manual for sure.

P PriyaM 1 month ago

Any specific CC numbers you'd recommend looking for first?

R RaviK 1 month ago

Ah, okay. I was wondering about the CC mapping part. Thanks!

N NikhilM 1 month ago

Following this, also thinking of getting the Kenny G VST for my EWI.

N NikhilM 1 month ago

How realistic is the breath control with it?

A AnjaliS 1 month ago

It's a really good sound though, worth the effort.

D Deepak87 1 month ago

I'm using it with a different wind controller, but the principle should be similar. It's mostly about getting the MIDI mapping right in your DAW. What DAW are you on?

S SanjayG 1 month ago

Live can be a pain with some VSTs, but totally doable.

R RaviK 1 month ago

Ableton Live. So far it's been a bit fiddly.

Just got an Akai EWI, will the Kenny G VST work well with it? Don't want to buy something that's a pain to set up with my controller.

A Anna 1 month ago

It's optimized for wind controllers like the EWI. Super easy to map and play.

S Shane D. 1 month ago

Dude, it's literally designed for wind controllers. That's one of its main selling points. Setup is usually straightforward; it picks up MIDI CCs really well, so you'll be good to go. You can find tutorials for EWI mapping if you search a bit, but it's pretty plug-and-play.

Been eyeing the Wind Controller Sound Library from Music Work Center. Are there any bundle deals right now or should I wait for a holiday sale?

K Karthik77 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer

They usually have a pretty good Black Friday sale, if you can hold out. I got my Soprano Sax VST during their last holiday offer and saved a decent amount.

M Meera 1 week ago

Good to know, thanks! Black Friday is still a while away though...

K Karthik77 1 week ago

Yeah, but the discounts are usually worth the wait.

R RahulG 1 week ago

I signed up for their newsletter and got a small discount code that way. Might not be for the whole library though.

R RahulG 1 week ago

Still a discount though!

K Karthik77 1 week ago

Yeah, usually newsletter ones are for individual plugins.

S SumitP 1 week ago

Sometimes they do a wind controller user discount if you email support, not a bundle but still a saving. Worth asking.

M Meera 1 week ago

Oh, interesting! Didn't know that was an option.

I'm a student, are there any discounts for the Kenny G plugin? $200+ is a bit steep for my budget right now.

T Tom 2 months ago

I think they do offer a student discount, I've seen it mentioned before. Check their site, usually it's a specific form you fill out with proof.

M Mark Y. 1 month ago

Yeah, there's definitely an educational discount! I got like 20% off last year. You usually have to send them some proof of enrollment, like a student ID or transcript. Worth checking their 'Contact Us' or 'FAQ' page for the exact process.

Are there ever sales for this VST? I heard about Black Friday, but I missed that. Is there like a summer sale or anything coming up?

I Ivy L. 1 month ago

They definitely do sales! Black Friday/Cyber Monday are big, but they usually have a Christmas/Holiday one too. Sometimes summer as well, keep an eye on your email if you sign up for their newsletter.

N Neil 1 month ago

Yeah, they have sales pretty regularly. Not always huge price drops, but often bundle deals where you get other sound packs or something extra. NAMM show usually triggers some promotions too, so could be around then. Sign up for their mailing list, they send out alerts.

Hey everyone, thinking about grabbing the Kenny G VST. Does it really feel 'smooth jazz' realistic? I'm debating between this and SWAM, wondering if the AI tech makes a big difference.

A Andre Bennett 1 month ago

I've got both. The Kenny G one is definitely smoother, especially with a wind controller. SWAM is good but the AI here just feels more responsive to breath dynamics. Hard to explain, but it's less 'sample-y'.

S Steve Doyle 1 month ago

Yeah, if you're going for that super fluid, expressive vibe, the AI stuff really helps. It's not just glorified samples, it actually feels like it's responding to how you play in real-time. Worth it for that 'real sax' feel, imo.

what's their refund policy like? I'm worried about buying a software plugin and then it not working with my setup or just not liking the sound.

M Marcus 2 months ago

I think they have a standard software refund policy, usually within 14 or 30 days if it's not downloaded/activated. Check their terms.

F Faith 2 months ago

They do have a refund policy, yeah. I haven't personally used it for this product, but for most VSTs it's like a 14-day or 30-day window from purchase, provided you haven't extensively used or registered it. It's software, so it's a bit different than physical goods, but they should have details on their site. Worth checking before you buy!
